Geography

Geography is the study of the world we live in.

If you are interested in the world you live in, then you’ll be interested in Geography.

We look to encourage the children to find out more about our world, and be enthusiastic about learning.

At Newminster we offer a balanced Geography curriculum where we investigate physical, human and environmental topics.

How can you ‘do’ Geography at home?

• Look for places mentioned in the news in an atlas.
• Watch weather reports.
• Look at O.S maps of your local area.
• Watch the news to keep abreast of current affairs.
• Watch travel/nature programmes e.g. Michael Palin, Bruce Parry, David Attenborough.
• Research where you are going on holiday.
• When out and about, open your eyes and notice what is going on around you!
